MSNBC Citizen Journalist Opportunities

MSNBC has a section of their website called Citizen Journalist. They actively seek ordinary people to submit their photos and video footage of news events witnessed first hand. This is a great opportunity for students and budding journalists to get a start in their career by looking for news events unfolding in their local area and being among the first to discover a major news story.

MSNBC's website says, "send us photographs and video! MSNBC is looking for your photos and video of news events. To tell your story through pictures -- moving and still -- that you've shot, just email your media to cj@msnbc.com. Please include captions and information about the videos and photos you send, along with your name and telephone number. You can also use your camera phone to send us photos and video while you're on the road."
